AFTERCARE

Expected Healing

  • Mild swelling, redness, or itching can occur at first, and should gradually ease as you heal.
  • For most clients, it subsides within hours to a few days.
  • Scabs form and flake off in about 4–5 days.
  • The true color appears in 4–6 weeks.
  • Your eyes may feel puffy, heavy, light-sensitive, or bloodshot temporarily.

Day 1

  • Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to remove excess lymph fluid.
  • Repeat until the oozing stops.

Days 1–5 · Wash

  • Wash twice daily.
  • Use lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap, with patting motions.
  • Avoid acid-based or exfoliating cleansers.

Days 1–5 · Moisturize

  • Apply a rice-sized amount of the PMU ointment I provide, 2–3 times daily.
  • Use a clean Q-tip.
  • Blot any excess.
  • Let scabs flake off naturally — picking can cause scarring or loss of pigment.

Swelling

  • Apply ice packs for 10 minutes, hourly, for the first 4–8 hours.
  • Ice is not helpful after 24 hours.
  • Sleep slightly elevated to reduce swelling.

What to Avoid

  • Direct sun or tanning beds.
  • Heavy sweating, exercise, swimming, saunas, and hot showers (10 days).
  • Skincare or cosmetics on the treated area, especially exfoliants or acids (30 days) — the only exceptions are the cleansing routine in this guide and the aftercare ointment I provide.
  • Facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, peels, or laser (4 weeks).
  • Do not sleep on your face (10 days).
  • Use a clean pillowcase during the first 10 days.
  • Heavy household cleaning with airborne debris.

Touch-Up & Good to Know

  • A touch-up session 6–12 weeks after your initial procedure is recommended.
  • Your first touch-up is included in your service.
  • Results may appear lighter or uneven as your skin renews — this is normal.

When to Seek Medical Care

  • Seek prompt medical care for: any change in your vision, severe eye pain, discharge from the eye, or spreading redness, increasing swelling, or fever. Eye complications should be checked by a medical professional right away — please do not wait for my reply.
