GLOW ELITE PMU

Lip Blush & Neutralization

AFTERCARE

Expected Healing

  • Your lips will be swollen, tender, and bold like lipstick at first.
  • Swelling usually settles within about 1–2 days — this is an estimate, and timing varies from person to person.
  • The color fades and softens as you heal — how much varies from person to person.
  • A thin scab forms and flakes off in 3–5 days.
  • Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, flaking, or itching can occur during the first days of healing (1–10 days), and should gradually ease as you heal.
  • Full healing takes 5–6 weeks for the true color to appear.

Day 1

  • Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to remove excess lymph fluid.
  • Repeat until the oozing stops.

Days 1–5 · Wash

  • Wash twice daily.
  • Use lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap, with patting motions.
  • Avoid acid-based or exfoliating cleansers.
  • Rinse and pat dry.

Moisturize

  • Apply a rice-sized amount of the PMU ointment I provide, 2–3 times daily, for at least 7 days.
  • Use clean fingertips or a Q-tip, and blot any excess.
  • The ointment I provide is the one exception to the lip-product restriction — keep using it as directed while other lip products stay off.

Swelling, Eating & Drinking

  • Apply ice packs for 10 minutes, hourly, for the first 4–8 hours.
  • Ice is not helpful after 24 hours.
  • Avoid spicy foods.
  • Do not stretch your mouth very wide.
  • Use a straw.
  • Keep food from touching your lips.
  • Let scabs flake off naturally — picking can cause pigment loss or scarring, especially around the lip line.

What to Avoid

  • Direct sun or tanning beds.
  • Skincare, cosmetics, or lip products, especially exfoliants or acids (30 days).
  • Facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, peels, or laser (4 weeks).
  • Lip fillers (4–6 weeks).
  • Do not sleep on your face (10 days).
  • Use a clean pillowcase during the first 10 days.
  • Blistex, Carmex, or Chapstick (too thick).
  • Excessive alcohol (it slows healing).
  • Heavy household cleaning with airborne debris.

Touch-Up

  • A touch-up session 6–12 weeks after your initial procedure is recommended.
  • Your first touch-up is included in your service.
  • Use new lipstick once healing is complete.

Good to Know

  • Lip Blush and Neutralization follow the same aftercare and the same healing timeline.
  • Results may appear lighter or uneven as your skin renews — this is normal.

When to Contact Me

  • Questions about your healing, or anything that worries you — message me.

When to Seek Medical Care

  • Seek prompt medical care for: redness that keeps spreading, pain or swelling that increases, pus or discharge, or fever. These can be signs of infection.
